Personal background
Well, I'm 35 years old, and I live on Long Island (which is part of New York, for those of you in other countries that may not have heard of it). I'm a maintenance mechanic for a condo complex, I fix our irrigation system, I trim trees, and I run our pool. I found out about Seti@Home from my, very good friend, Michele. I just joined this site called Ramchargercentral.com. We are a bunch of Dodge truck enthusiasts. Well we have a little team here, and want to kick some booty around here. In my spare time, I enjoy my computer, and WWE wrestling, and just plain hangin out. I like to chat with people, and I like to make new friends. I hope we find some aliens. And hopefully, they are friendly, cause I'd like to sit down with one of them and drink a beer with 'em.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, I'm 100% convince that we are not alone here. There is no way, that in the vast depths of space, that there is no other intellgent form of life. I'm also a firm believer that we have been visitted by ETs, for the entire time that Humanity has been in existance. Now most of you may think that I'm nuts, but I actually feel that we may have been an experiment. Think on this, an alien ship crashes here. They are going to die, or they are scientists. They find something that resembles them, (APES, they do some genetic tests that show that the apes are compatible with them, so they transfer some of their DNA to these apes, and lo and behold, there is suddenly a higher form of ape. As time goes by, these higher apes evlove into the various formations of man, and we are the result. Thankfully this isn't the 1300's or I would be hung for heresy.lol. I believe that they are still visitting us to check up on their work, so to speak. I really don't think we need to transmit any signals. If they are advanced enough they will find us. But we should send out everything that represents who we are.
I run seti to help the scientific community. If there is anything to hear out there, we should know about it, especially if they are a hostile nature. We will need to be prepared in case they attack us. Or be prepared if they are friendly, so we know what to do to relate to them. Suggestion, make a faster engine.
