| Greetings to all. My age is 32. I'm a total fanatic of Science Fiction stuff, Sky Gazer and as a hobby, participate and sponsor a small team that study self research on posible alien civilizations and technology. Since I was young, always had the idea that we aren't alone in this huge vastness of what we call "Space". Once I heard about the SETI project, began downloading and filtering those signals for posible candidate ones. So ppl don't dispare and be patient.... :o) |

What SETI has acomplished is only few years of research and there is a long way to come to ever find a civilization that may use "signal transmiting devices" as means of communications. But if there is, then those signals are still underway to reach us posibly taking 10, 100 or 1,000 of years to reach us. And if so, Are we using the right frequency, scaning devices to pick them up, etc.? They might be using light becons to transmit messeges localy or intergalacticly. Who knows. But any cause is good so that's my main reason to support SETI. The posible benefits of making a contact with another civilizations would be an enormous impact. Providing lot's information about their developments, ways of living and technologies, etc. The possible dangers localy would be the impact it would cause in our beliefs, cultural and social ideas. Those possible alien civilizations wouldn't be a threat due to the distance apart from our world to theirs to reach us. So it would be a monumental chat effort everytime we would send and receive their signals that would take years to reach us to at least send a reply... Still I believe all this is a good cause and let's us take that trip into that voyage of discovery.... Thank You SETI for letting the doors always open...
