Personal background
I'm a first year college student aged 17 from the UK. I like reading about all types of technology, but especially enjoy playing with the newest gadgets available!
In my first year at college I am studying Physics, Mathematics, Economics and Computing, and hope to combine some of these subjects to enter a profession aimed at some sort of engineering degree(hopefully to do with space). I am part of the small RDFleet group of Seti@Home members and recently joined due to a recommendation by the club owner, a good friend. I am thoroughly enjoying the experiance, and am facinated how so much information can by physically processed by so many people at any one time. Our team hopes to be soon moving up the ranks.

I am currently running the following system:
AMD Athlon XP1800 /256mb DDR PC2100 RAM

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am donating my CPU time to this massive science project as I believe somewhere in the (near) future the human species will benefit from this mass of research and data which has been collected.

I feel that the Seti@Home project needs all the support that it can get, as with the size of our galaxy, let alone the whole Universe I feel that it is likely there is some form of life on another planet. Whether, if we ever come in contact with this species in the future (through a beacon, or space travel) the alien lifeforms are friendly or not is an impossible question to answer at this moment in time. Keep with it people, your doing a great job!
