| I am a 32 year old graduate student. I am about to earn my Masters in Biology, specializing in Herpetology and I am currently applying to various PhD programs. I hope to be a college professor one day. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I am doing the SETI thing because I believe there is other "intelligent" life out there and I am so curious about it that I can't stand the fact that I may not live long enough to see the proof of it. As a biologist who is particularly obsessed with evolution, I am looking forward to seeing the characteristics of extraterrestrial beings and the light that they will shed on our own evolution. I think that the imaginations of even the most intelligent and open minded humans are still affected by the subconcious expectations garnered by a lifetime of being surrounded by what we call normal. When we find ETs, I believe we are going to be completely amazed at the subtle differences, and of course the not so subtle ones. |
