Personal background
I am an unix computer operator. I recently moved from Boston to Portland. I am thirty eight. I have a two year old son. Will I lived in Boston I used to go to the Boston muesem of science. On Wednesday nights they would have free lectures, where they would bring in the professors from the local area to speak on astronomy, space travel, to name a few. I would love to travel to mars, and I think they should have a lottery where the winner gets to go up in space. Nasa sites on a gold mine of pictures and resouce that need to be better marketed. If they marketed everything they owned they would have all the money in the world for space explorations. The Russian's have a great idea to charge turist to come to the space station. I am into computers of course, and I once had a little farm where I raised sheep, chickens and turkeys.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think there is extrterrestrial life is out there whether they discovered a way to cover the distance to get here is another story. I think it would take a long time for the single to even leave our solar system. They say that our first radio waves are just leaving the solar system. By the time they actually get anywhere we would I hope discovered how to reach these place with some type of space travel. Not to mention that they may not even be using the technology we have and not even hear it even if it did reach them so I don't think it would be worth our time. I run SETI on my computer hoping that we could find something out there.
