Personal background
Who am I? Now that's a moot question. Born in Canada, and although I have no genuine Canadian ancestral claims, (Indian as Columbus had thought) my grandparents on both sides were pioneers from different parts of our globe; English, Hawaiian, and Aussi.

My paternal grandfather accompanied the pilot of *one of* the first hot-air balloon attempts to put man in the sky, in Timbuktu, W Africa, aided Dr Banting in the discovery of insulin, and helped in the Halifax disaster of 1917. His wife, my granny, was an Ali’i child (of an Hawai’ian king’s family) that had been kidnapped and brought to England to be sold and raised as a daughter to an elite family. I inherited, as my father so eloquently put it, the “Wanderlust.”

Having traveled (much of that barefoot, in frayed bell-bottom jeans) all over Canada, I finally settled under the sparkling sky of the Yukon Territory where I lived in seclusion with no electricity or running water, hunted for some of my meat, gathered my teas and berries from the forest, and fished for some of the biggest, juiciest lake trout in the world. After 10 years alone in the bush, I once again joined what many call civilization. No more frozen outhouse for me!

In came the wonder of PCs. Up in BCs hills, while cooking some of the best shine around those parts, I found myself learning this wondrous thing; the PC.

Next came Kaua’i, and Hurricane Iniki. Good encounter, but one category 5 is quite enough for one lifetime.

Washington State was next, then on to Louisiana to experience a severe haunting, a twister, a good lightning strike for spice and bit more character, and now Florida is my home. Africa next.

Throughout my “wanderlust” life, my face has been turned to the stars. I’ve always known there‘s a superior intelligence to what we have here, and have felt a sort of ancestral pull from the sky.

Eccentric? Perhaps. But really, I’m no more than just a curious earthling, examining my planet, and driven to know more than my globe can offer.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course ET exists. We have too many valid encounters to ignore, and there's the evidence that's so vehemently concealed by our Government's dept of Cover-ups.

ETs have made their presence known to us for eons of ages, but why don't we communicate with them? Could be they don’t see us as beings they can learn from, or don’t feel we’re ready for their knowledge. Perhaps they’ve tried to communicate with us, but we’ve not been able to understand. We’ll have communication when it’s time. In the meantime, we’ve learned much, and are still learning from them and their technology.

As with all life, there are the "good" and "bad;" as determined by our own earthly set of standards and labels. Some ET encounters have been pleasant some have not. Our own history shows encounters with civilizations that have been either congenial, or violent. Some violence took place because of the posture the explorers presented themselves with. Some because of a lack of understanding, but most were spawned by greed or jealously.

We need to overcome our inherent tendency towards greed and jealousy to successfully integrate with ETs. Gosh! We can’t even integrate within our own globe because of differences; pigment, beliefs or lack thereof, or the endless number of excuses humanity uses to separate us from each other.

Perhaps we should send a beacon of S.O.S. to ask for help to settle our differences among ourselves, so we can finally join the community within our stars without being a threat to them or ourselves.

Seti is one of the most intelligent creations we’ve exhibited. I’m proud to be able to be a part of continuing our quest toward further knowledge. We’re only a tiny part of the makeup of our own galaxy, and when we do get that elusive signal, we need to let them know that we are humble, and wish to understand more of our question of existence, but that if they are violent in nature, we will also attempt to protect ourselves.
