Personal background
Hi, I'm just you're average joe from Iowa City, IA (by way of Peoria, IL, originally from Chicago, IL). My occupation is E-Mail Customer Service for MCI WorldCom. I'm going back to school this fall as either a business, or a political science major, I'm not sure which yet. Some other interests of mine are color film photography, web page building, learning the Linux operating system, and planning my wedding to my fiance, Corie! I just moved here to Iowa City to be with her not too long ago, so my new job at MCI and wedding planning are taking up the majority of my time! I also play guitar and sing. You can find out more about me and my interests at my sporadically updated website, which is located at http://fullspeed.to/cmh_land. I guess that's really about all that's of interest in regards to me!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I do believe extra-terrestrial life exists, in some form, somewhere, though not necessarily in a form we would expect. Maybe it's not carbon-based, you know?

2. Should we transmit a signal? Sure, why not? I think we should transmit a distress signal, in hopes that some member of some more advanced society could come help us solve some of our problems, like corruption among those who lead us, cancer, and famine.

3. I run SETI@Home because...um, because I have for over 2 years now and have a decent ranking, why stop now? *grins* No really, I run it because I would like to think that if we do decipher some alien communication, then I would have played some role in achieving that. The proof of life outside of our planet would be a monumental discovery, and I want to be a part of it!
