Personal background
A little about me:

Well, I was born... Not unlike most people. My childhood years were basically uneventful, except for the Alien encounter. I have an unhealthy fascination with twinkies, and really enjoy bowling nude. Really your average person.

My hobbies:

Hanging fly paper. Staring at bug zappers. sneaking up to the fridge to see if the light really goes off when you shut the door. You know, the usually stuff.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As for SETI and SETI@home, I really grew tired of the flying toasters. There is really only so much the human brain can withstand.

A friend told me about SETI@home. I had heard of SETI before, and thought what they were doing was interesting. I'd even seen SETI mentioned or featured in many movies. So the idea of actually being one of those who discovered E.T. was an invigorating concept.

Well, I downloaded the screen saver, watched the number crunching for awhile, and basically decided that it was a pretty cool screen saver. It would do its job, upload the results, and basically never bothered me. Once I got DSL, I just clicked the little run always button and forgot about it.

Well, here I am two years later and that little dish is still in my tray. Why do I still do it? Well, it's not hurting anything. And let's be real... even "I" can't use the computer all of the time. I'm just waiting now. Waiting to hit that 1,000 unit mark. :-) "And then what?" you ask. That's easy...

I just wait on that 1,001 unit mark. :-D
