Personal background
Hi!
Many of the magnificant things science has discovered outside our planet has made me feel very insignificant and humble. We have known for a long time how to travel outside our atmosphere, but still so few humans have ever done that. To think there might be lifeforms, intelligent or not, out there far away is a very facinating thought. Finding these lifeforms would certainly change the world. Thats the main reason why I´m running SETI@home in the background. I had a long pause running SETI@home, because I got a new computer and didn´t remember the whole program existed, but now I have it in my both computers running almost 24-7. I think that companies should get or made more aware of SETI@home, because companies computers are often running constantly and their unused recourses should be used.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
By mathematic calculation it has been possible to prove life exists in other planets. These habitable planets are so far away, that a human mind can't really understand the distance. The best way to ensure other lifeform´s presence so far is to analyse and study the signals we might be recieving this very moment. The benefits of finding an advancely developed alien race are so huge, it´s worth every cent. This kind of voluntary work SETI@home is providing to everyone with internet access is an easy way to help in this important task. Maybe it would able us to put aside our minor disputes and see the big picture. It will happen sooner or later, hopefully our generation will be there to witness it..
