I run SETI@home on a generic K6-2/500 w. 128 MB of memory and 11.5 GB Maxtor HD but plan to upgrade in the near future to a PR1800 Athlon XP system.

Does E.T. Life exist? Hell yes! Are any E.T.'s beaming radio messages to us? Probably not, but it's worth the try. Who knows, I might get lucky and get my name in the history books!
