Profile: Michael Kirste

Personal background
Huh, personal background? Damn, I hate those questions. Okay. My name is Michael, I'm living in Berlin/Germany and was born in 1976. In 2001 I finished school being now an officially approved engineer.

In my sparetime I do play badminton, darts and I love my mountainbike.
If someone really reads this then ... well I think I should be happy. Saying this I'm wondering if there's any use in being selected for this famous "user of the day" category. Any suggestions?

Okay. Feel free to contact me on ICQ (152297596) and say the words
"Ick bin een Berliner"
to win an exclusive chat with me. ;-)

Have a nice day.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

Sure, et life exists. Even if it's just to counter church's radical theories. And trust me the pope himself is among us. ;-)

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

I think we already do with all our modern technology. I mean isn't a mobile phone, any other electronic device or even a nuclear test-site not radiating? But yeah, I'd always say yes to something reaaaaaaaaaaally big.

Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

I'm running Seti@home mainly for the fun to compete my stats with other people in the SetiGermany-team. *thumbsup* But who knows. I would not be surprised that much if this project would reveal some kind of et-life.
