Profile: Gringo Chaz

Personal background
I am a technician with one of the largest MOTOROLA dealers in the United States. I have a background in computers, Military Communications, Public Safety and commercial two-way radio programming, repair, sales and service. I am not very optimistic when it pertains to the human condition. Life is hard, suck it up and drive on.
I like good music, good booze and good family.
I\\'m a big fan of Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers RCPM formerly the Refreshments. \\"Life is grand, Love is real, Beauty is everywhere!\\"-Roger Clyne

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The universe is too vast to believe that we are the only intelligent lifeforms in it. I believe that the possibility of life elsewhere exists. To believe otherwise is arrogant and naive.

I run SETI@home because I would like to think that I\\'m helping to make contact. I would like to know the truth about life beyond earth sometime in my lifetime. I\\'ve probably watched too much X-Files.

I would like to see the command line version *Crunch* faster while maintaining accuracy.

I am hopeful that one day I will have a SETI farm to process data 24/7. Still, this is not a competition for me. It is enough for me to know that I am helping mankind by exploring, understanding and explaining the origin, nature and existence of extraterrestrial life. It\\'s exciting and adictive too!
