Profile: Lee Berreth

Personal background
I have have been on Earth for for 62 years.Born in a small town with wood sidewalks, called Fairview, Mt. Served in the U.S Army Signal Corps.,in Conan, Korea. I was a technician on digital telephone switch for General Telephone in Gresham Or. When I started my career all of the switching equipment in the telephone central offices was electrical mechanical, with tons of relays and vacuum tubes for the seven channel carrier systems. Over the years I marveled at the rapid change in technology, and as I became older and wiser, it occurred to me that mankinds advances in the technologies might have had a helping hand from some outside source. I am now retired and my hobby is reading and trying to understand it all.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that extrarerrestrial life exists. I think contact will be made when mankind crosses a critical threshold in technology. Yes we should transmit a beacon for others to find, even if we are not here when they receive it. Would we not like to receive a message of any kind just to know we are not alone?. Maybe with SETI we will.
