Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think E.T. life does exist and I think humankind is very close to being advanced enough to discover it (If it doesn't come discover us first). However I think that at the rate we are destroying ourselves and out environment such a discovery may prove useless. What good is it going to do us to find out there is life out there if we blow ourselves to peices before we're advanced enough to visit/communicate with it or if we kill our environment before we are technologically advanced enough to move out into the Universe? I believe this search is important, but the more important question is are we mature enough to make such a discovery? Take a look around you... probably not.
