Personal background |
I'm an aspiring geek from LaCrosse, Wisconsin. I'm 16, years old, and heard about seti on the screensavers. I was excited to see that a program like seti exists, and I'm glad that I can do a little to contribute to the search. I am proud to be an eccentric, geeky slacker. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
There are just too many places in the universe for our existance to be a coincidence. Somewhere, some form of life must exist, even if it's bacteria. I believe that discovering other life forms would be the biggest event in history, and it would be a little more comforting to know that were not alone in the universe. If we were to find alien life, there's about a 50% chance that we are more intelligent than them, but hopefully if we found life of higher intelligence, we might be able to advance our technology to a level we never imagined.
I take part in the seti project because I believe that even a little help on my part might someday help to enlighten us to the life in the universe.
