Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
In one form or another ET certainly exists. We will either discover it by getting a sampling (ie. Mars), picking up a rock on our space travels, maybe picking up a signal or maybe some weekend they will stop by with the family for a visit. Possible benefits ? I guess it would be nice to talk with somebody besides ourselves, they may have a better idea. New music, art, gods, species, maybe answers to our questions about physical science. I guess a danger is that we may blast them for having their elbows on the table at dinnertime.

In answer to the second questions: Yes sure,..transmit away, say "hello, would you like to swap some music..?"
