| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Do I believe extraterrestrial life exists? Nah. But looking for it is fun.
A beacon? Why? Beacons are only notable for people who look for them.
I run SETI@Home because I like the study of radio signals, it seems kind of cool to try and sort intelligent information from background noise. The project, in its least, is a great advance in technology. Who knows what kind of operations we could perform with multi-CPU usage? I suggest maybe there be other projects...perhaps dealing only with space exploration or as broad as any scientific reasearch. |
