Personal background
Graduating from Tallinn Technical University, as
an engineer of Network Programming and Intelligent Systems on the Spring of 2004.

Have worked as an Enterprise Java developer at Hansabank Estonia (since 06-2001 to 01-2004). Currently working at the same position in another international software development corporation. My work has always involved creating Java(SWING) and JSP based back-office solutions. In my new position I have had a chance to get a deeper knowledge in Jakarta Struts and JSF technologies as well.

The solutions in turn involve reports, data reviewing applications, forms for data insertion etc - all based on Java, XML and Oracle PL/SQL functions. My days usually last from (well it depends much on what time I arrive from school) 12am - 20 or 22pm.

In 02.2004 received a SUN Certified Programmer in Java Platform 1.4 status. The next step will be taken at some moment in 09-10.2004.

Additionally to Java (and related technologies) I also program in ColdFusion and PHP, administer MySQL databases on both WinNT and Linux (Mandrake) platforms.

At leisure time I try to figure out activities that would keep me away from the flickering screen for as long as possible and would compensate the energy lost at work and at school. So as you can say my activities usually take place outdoors.

I also like to make digital graphics and some of this can be seen at http://aulo.deviantart.com or http://pilt.ee/0808. Unfortunately I haven't time for any new "deviations" lately but I promise to improve myself and submit some new creations soon. :) But you know - "soon" is a very volatile term, this can be happening the next day or the next lifetime :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I strongly believe in there being ET. Considering the amount of solar systems already visible to our telescopes and adding all those that we don't see (those of what we are not aware of) there just has to be life outhere. For me it is very clear that we are NOT THAT UNIQUE.

It can be true that even if there is life, they might or might not be as intelligent as we here at Earth or they might not exist in a form it is common to think "down here". Maybe they only exist in different forms electromagnetic impulses or fields or tiny particles. Or maybe they are so large that our solar systems exist as bloodcells in their organisms.

Only a joint effort will take us closer to the true knowledge! Improving the SETI research methods (adding more telescopes worldwide, widening the bandwidth, improving algoritms, inviting more and more contributors, etc) will sure pay back one day - meaning we will finally find the needle (or two) from a haystack! Keep crunching!
