Personal background
Hello everybody. I am 26 years old, last year university student. I study computer science in Sofia Bulgaria and I'm working as computer operator. I am interested in computers /obviously :-)/, mountain climbing, military technology, and military history. My favourite writer is Lois McMaster Bujold - her "Vor" books are terrific.
I'm a member of Jedi Crew SETI@home team.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that the existence of extraterrestrial life is obvious for every person with IQ about the average level :-). The Universe is simply too big to sustain only 1 (one) sentient life form (us). I believe that we have already made contact with alien life forms but it is kept in secret for some reason :-). But sooner or later the truth will overcome. The SETI project is useful as a joint effort of all progressive people on the Earth. I truly believe in thå advantages of the distributed computing projects such as SETI. Nowadays the personal computers posses the power of the supercomputers of the 80-s and in the same time some scientific projects need additional computer time. It is stupid not to use these resources adequately.
I think that the "real" contact with extraterrestrial intelligence will be the greatest event in the history of the mankind and hope that this will happen really soon.
