Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why do I run SETI@home?

Because it helps people here find others elsewhere and not feel alone.
It is a great step in human evolutionary gain & it makes the future better.

What are my views about the project?

My views are that humanity has little knowledge of compression and sound. 5 meg files can be 5k files just to start, an hold the same volume/quality. A minute long burst can be something like a library folded, only earth tech is just in it's infancy to realize this. I'd love to be a part of the project in a larger way, though I need more schooling. People tend to be protective/climbing ladders takes a while. I believe SETI is one of the overlooked projects by society and government as a whole. If would wide the extra wasted use was converted for the SETI project the results would astounding, earth as an antenna only using junk time. SETI requires vast funding, an will one day be looked back upon as a milestone that should have been treated seriously on the funding/support level. Very similar to space flight an the I.S.S. right now, maybe there's something in the commercial future for the project :)

Any Suggestions?

Yes, we can get it if we really want, do what you do, love that you do, if it doesn't kill you it will set you free, have fun, explore, keep searching the sky, you will find something guaranteed
