Personal background
By day I work for a Technical Authoring company developing interactive publications, this can be anything from HTML to PDF files. By night Im into computer graphics in a big way. I love rendered movies like Squaresoft CG in games like Final Fantasy, and also video compositing like the movie Gladiator.
With computer graphics you can never have enough cpu power, but I like to leave my machine running Seti client when im not working.
I spend a lot of time running my machines developing my web site that i use to store my works, or running rendering software.
Im 24, live in the UK and need more machines !!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I became interested in the Seti@home project a few years back but only really started to get involved recently.
I think its human nature to hold onto the dream that he isn’t alone. That’s why there’s so much Sci-Fi that has the theme of ETs and Visitations! I think deep down its why we all use Seti , Sci-Fi and Science has often gone hand in hand and you find that what seemed Fiction become Fact. Things like holographic memory in computers , atomic power, mobile telephones, Satellites, all things that were once seen in comic strips or B Movies but are all quite a reality now.
Mark my words - we will find a signal, maybe we wont get long armed big headed greys inviting us for tea and cake, but we will find evidence of life!
