I was born in Lyon, France, some 40 years ago. I've been studying in the school of Mines in Nancy, France, then I worked for many IT companies in France, from 1984 to 1999. I've spent more than 3 years in the USA (Atlanta and Austin), and I'm back in France, living (sometimes, when I'm not traveling) close to Paris.
I like spending some time with my two children, who are living in south of France with their mother. Unfortunately, it is only during my vacation time, that's not enough for me.
When time allows, and when I stop smoking :-), I like sports (road bike, tennis (on a table or not), soccer). |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I don't know if there is some intelligent life out of our galaxy. Statistics would perhaps say yes, but actually I don't care. However, if there is some life somewhere in the universe, I think there is a very slight chance we (earth inhabitants) could really contact them. From all the signals we are sending, how many ETs will understand them, and how many will be able to answer in a way we can understand? A communication, whichever it is, must be done in both directions.
I like SETI@home initiative mostly for the "collaborative" work it requires from computers everywhere in the world. It is great to see that more than 4 million users worldwide are following the same goal. If ever it would dissuade those people - and others - to make war or such awful things! (think about 9/11, and George W. Bush's shit).
If we can find some intelligent life somewhere, that'd be great. If not, keep trying to work together for a better world! |
