Personal background
I'm from Miami; I came here in 1989 after suffering a stroke. Originally from New York, I went to the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where I studied philosophy; I was one third of the way through my dissertation when I stroked out -- not that studying philosophy had anything to do with it!!! Since I've been in Miami, I've had a much easier life -- and the weather is beautiful (other than the occasional hurricane). I've studied a lot about ancient Egypt, and would love to go there someday. I also help out at Take Stock in Children, a free scholarship program for anyone who finishes High School. In March of 2002 I had another stroke, and most of my time nowadays is spent in physical therapy.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I hope there is life outside our world. Discovering that would hopefully make us, here on this planet, learn to get along better, and be less violent in our dealings with each other.
