Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
if you consider that space is infinite, extraterrestrial life MUST exist and so it is left to chance when or how we'll discover them or they discover us. i'm sure there will be no benefit for mankind if they behave like humans usually do =)
maybe humans should send such a beacon although the chance to be found is very little, it seems to be useful to send information about human thinking and understanding, also about mathematical systems such as the binary and decimal system
i just run seti@home to do something "useful" while my computers (AMD Athlon 600 & AMD Athlon XP 1600 ) are idle, i just hope it's useful and we'll find "them" soon =)
