Personal background
I am not a gun nut....I'm a firearms enthusiast, and a lifetime member of the NRA.

I'm also a 53 year old college grad and an animal lover.

I also play a mean game of chess.

The cute little mutt in the picture is Rascal, a 6 year old Beagle and my bestest little buddy.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why do I run Seti@Home? I'm not sure. Do we REALLY want to know if there is somebody out there?

It would be both reassuring and frightening to discover other intelligent life in the galaxy. They would almost certainly be much older, and therefore, much more advanced than us. Hopefully a lot wiser and friendlier than us. Either way, if they possess a "Faster Than Light" drive, and they decide to visit us, life as we know it is over.

On the other hand, if we're the only ones here, and FTL is possible, we've got a lot of work to do colonizing the Galaxy.

However, if we're the only ones here, and FTL is not possible, it's an incredible waste of space.

Almost as big a waste as what's between Obama's ears.....

Oh yeah, one more thing.

Hey Berkeley...John Wayne RULES!!!!
