Personal background
I am a 45 y/o male, living in Shawnee, Kansas.

I came across this site, back in '99 when a friend refereed me. I looked it up, and installed the software. Been running off and on ever since. Now that technology has advanced and I have a few spare devices, I can let this run 24/7.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
To tell the truth, i dont really know if life exists...I had a pretty strong christian upbringing, and am still kind of stuck on the fact about the bible...I still believe in the bible, but am curious to see what might be out there. As for benefits and dangers, I can only think of what has happened in movies, totally primitive thinking, but nonetheless important.

I hope that we find the other extraterrestrial life first, who knows if they will be friendly or not, perhaps we would be the aggressors...I am not totally sure if it would be a good thing...with all the movies saying that we would do autopsys, kill them because we do not understand, whatever.

As for the beacon, im not totally sure if it is a good thing...

I run the program, to help out...mostly to see if I was to find a planet or something, that I would like to name it...hehehehe...
