Personal background
Well, im a freaky 27 years old russian who loves to make internet games, eat sushi and travel around our small world :) The only thing i cant understand in this life is the universe - billions of galaxies with billions of stars in each of it and billions of planets around the stars (all this stuff is flying around in the middle of nowhere). And somewhere in the middle of all this is a small flying ball with 5 billions people on it and everyone of them have their very important problems: which car is better to buy ? why she/he doesnt love me ? how to lose these 10 pounds of weight?. And then, when you lies in the summer starring at that billions of billions of stars, you think: "Hey, what are all these people worrying about? Look upwards an relax!". Dont know about you, but i think its funny somehow ...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I dont "believe" that there are aliens out there - i just know that... It just cant be that on these billions of billions of billions planets in the whole universe we are the only ones who can think. Im also pretty sure that many of these civilizations already observe us for a long long time. But actually, if i were an alien, i would not contact the humans by now. I mean, look at us - we try to use EVERY new invention for the military purposes first, there are always several wars on our planet, people kill each other for five bucks, some countries are trying to destroy the others, some are trying to rule the whole world. Would you give them the newest technologies like photon engines? I would not ... But, surely, it would be a huge progress to PROVE that we are not alone - maybe it will change the way the people think. And this program could do that. (Hmmm, of course, if someone still use the old good radio waves :))
