Personal background
I really like working with people. In my job I meet people from all walks of life. Most people really open up when they come into the workshop. So I get to hear all kinds of life stories.

I live in Paris France, not far from the Bastille where I work as a part time Rack Driver. My job is to turn the crank once a prisoner is properly chained to the rack. Sometimes, though, when the shackler forgets to properly tighten a chain, an accident can happen. I usually have to clean it up. Which is really the only part of the job I don't care for.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I like the idea of SETI. Though I think that the project is perhaps not as efficient as it could be. Now that astronomers have identified over 100 actual planetary systems, I think it is a bit silly to keep on searching random bits of sky. I think that if one is looking for duck feathers, one should look where one might reasonably expect to find ducks. OR one could simply look under every random bush one finds.
