Personal background
i am 23, from bucharest, romania. graduated the politehnica university this summer (2002). i do software. as for hobbies, i am not sure i have any, but i do like to do home improvement, all kinds of fixes and stuff when i have spare time. also, i am interested in social sciences, but again, i have little time, so i'm merely a beginner. i have a boxer, her name is ari, and she is one of the things i do care a lot about - in the picture, it's me and her playing.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
extraterrestrial life - i have absolutely no idea if extraterrestrial life exists or not. in theory, it should exist. as for the real life - i don't really have any expectations. i don't think discovering it should be portrayed as a benefit or as a danger. things happen. in 1500, they discovered america, and america would have been discovered regardless of wheter it's a good thing or not; same with ets. once we will have the right technology and look in the right place, we'll find them, we'll adjust somehow to the new finding.

should humnas transmit beacon - should i have a webpage so people know about me? my answer was yes, so i wrote a webpage. why not let others know about us? as for the message, i think we'll improve the content in time. let's get to version 1.0 first. then, we'll do better.

why do i run seti - a friend told me about seti. first i ran seti from his account, then i got my own, now i run it because who knows? i might get so lucky to find them, and maybe if i am the one to find them, i would get a place in the wellcoming committee:)) this one sounds really, definintely gorgeously good...
