Well, personally, I think that we humans are the only intelligent life form in universe (except a lot of animals sharing the planet with us who seem to be even more intelligent than us ;-).
I consider my part in the SETI@home project to proove that our technology is not able to find extraterresticals (because they are simply not there).
I'm really not against friendly aliens like E.T. but I fear that, IF aliens would be found eventually, they could be a) technologically far developed b) aggressive c) like to overtake the world for exploiting the ressources.
I think it would be a very stupid idea to send out informations via a strong radio beam.
We have so many problems on earth (mainly self produced) that fighting attacking aliens would be no amusing task.
