Profile: Tribble

Personal background
I am a 4 weeks old girl from Berlin / Germany. My mother is an Argentinian girl, my father is German and my grandparents are living in Brazil, so I'm quite a multinational girl, right?
On the photo you can see me and my big friend. He uses to give me a bear's hug.
Before my birth, my father became a member of SETI@home and I hope to hear about some interesting results when I can read all this. When will he be finished calculating all these strange patterns?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think there is more intelligence in space than just on this planet (It remains to be discussed if there IS some intelligence on this planet). However, I'm not quite sure if we will still be here to discover distant life forms. And if we discover signs of distant life: What do you think how long this life is already extinct? Take into account that the signals which they send need some millions (billions?) of years to reach us! Maybe we have to search for other, faster ways of communications. And maybe we will be very surprised if we discover them and find out that the communication was always there, in front of our eyes, but nobody saw it.
Sounds freaky? Maybe. I'm curious about the future.
