Profile: Reiner Vogt

Personal background
Hi,

this is Reiner Vogt from germany, I'm 36 years old and a owner of a internet cafe in Wuppertal (near Cologne). My hobbies are computer, bicycle, cinema and the universe/cosmos. I am a seti home user for longer than 2 years, it makes fun - and i'm in good faith that we are not alone in the space. Now, i hope that the seti home project will find in the future a signal that we know that we are not alone - anything of life in the space must exists....
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
First i read a little story about seti@home in a big newspaper here in germany, i think it was in 1999 - and, after that story i want to run seti@home on my computer, while it must be other life exists in the cosmos. At this time, i want to do my work to help them to find them.

Now, there are millions of sun systems as like as our one in our galaxy, and i don't belief that we are "the only one". That will be not real...

But, i think our problem is, when we receive a signals, we lost hundred or million years, while the signal is only in light-speed. Many systems are far far away from us, and the speed of the light is to slow. When we receive anything, we coul'd not answer, while the signal needs to much time to come back to the source.

Perhaps, it will be good to use "Warp Speed" like "Star Trek" in the future,
who knows what we have in 10 or 20 years.

I wish anything "good luck" by the seti@home search. Tell your friends about the seti@home project, it's important for our future.

so long,
Reiner.

Ps.: Sorry for my bad english...
