I'm a retired nuclear engineer and participated in the old seti@home from 1999 until about 2005. Then I started my own company and my computers were put to different uses. Now that I'm retired and have little else to do, I thought I'd get back into it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I like the concept of distributed computing to work on computationally intensive projects and like the idea of looking for intelligent life elsewhere in the universe.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
