Personal background
I am a teacher/librarian at Delbarton School in Morristown, NJ. (since 1983) Delbarton is a 500 student Catholic boys school. Originally from Ft. Lauderdale, I attended college in the northeast and decided to stay in the area. I currently teach one class of European History, but have taught AP
Economics, AP European History, and Humanities. I coached at Delbarton for 18 years (soccer, swimming, lacrosee) but had to retire due to my administrative duties. My hobbies include computers, reading, astronomy/SETI, NASCAR...and ofcourse activities with my family (Beth-wife,Samantha-12,Jennifer-7).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I do think that extraterrestrial life exists. How and when we discover this life remains to be seen...it could be in my lifetime or it could be longer. I see many benefits from this possible discovery...we would have so much to learn and share with another form of life. I think we should send a beacon out and possibly follow Sagan's view of using a modulated signal comprising numbers. I run SETI@Home because of my curiosity and fascination with the prospects of this project. This project has the potential to have a great impact on the future of humanity.
