Personal background
Well, I was born on the 13th of December in 1884 in the "wonderful" Germany
I've heard of SETI often in the past, but in the szmmer of 2002 I saw it for the first time at a LAN-Party. We run it on an Dual-Athlon-XP System to Benchmark it. A bit later I try it on my system to(now a !Ghz Athlon C ...).
For me Seti is a great tool to see how your system works. In the group "mmforces" i now try to optimize me Average Packet Speed.

I don't have many Hobby, I play a bit guitar, do some computer-stuff, programming, and care about my cat. I go to an technical Collage (to 2004) with
IT elactives (Assambler rulet! :) )
If I ever will have enough time I have to Make the Graphical Layout of www.mmforces.de but im sure I won't make it during thre next year :)

I wish all Seti member an crazy life full of fun, never stop thinking!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Hmm, I think the question "are we alone" I can answer with "no". but I don't really believe in an species like in sience fiction. (But I must say I like this stuff) The human-beeing should use their mones an resources to garantate their own existing, we have enough problems on earth.
This signal story is a good Idea, but the chance that other life-forms can interpret this signal is nearly 0. But I would try it on.
The Seti-project is a great thing. The Idea, the phylosophie, and the technical solution are the way all should be! The only thing I don't understand is why it isn't open source??
