Every star we see must have, on average, at least one planet revolving around them. They usually have more than one.
Now think about this...
There are hundreds of billions of stars in our galaxy alone.
And there are billions of galaxies out there!
Given this vastness, it would be incredible if there's no life out there.
Won't that be an awful waste of space?
