Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.
I do think that extraterrestrial life exists.
When and how will we descover it? I don't know... we are not even sure if they want us to find them. There are so many things we can say that are evidence of other lifeforms in the Universe but none we can show and say, this is it!
I believe we are being tested, we are being checked to see if we are trustworthy or not. I believe that a lifeform with such a technology that allows it to travel to our galaxy must be many times more advanced than the human race, and that if they had the same kind of evolution humans had, they are surely very suspicious about us and see us a bit has "primitive".
Beneficts:
If real encounters happen and there is some kind of understanding, we can think imediatly of the technological impact it will have in our society, sudden development will surely happen in every aspect of our industries and way of life.

Dangers:
Not being able to understand eachother, culture clash, from there anything can happen.

2.
We sure should, it not anything else it will be a way to say "We are here!!!".
Kind of information? Music, the only true universal language.

3.
Why? Because the project is trying to answer some of my questions, if i can do anything to help them, i'm helping myself and everyone that has the same doubts i do.
Views of the project? Well, what can i say, probably one of the more interesting projects i know, one that allows people to directly do some of the work and that gives them the credit for it.
Suggestions? Publicise the project more, create a monthly mailing list of reports, tell the users about development the of the project, report any findings or interesting data monthly.
