| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I think extraterrestrial life exists. We may discover it by means such as SETI@home, or we may not. I think it may discover us before we discover it. Maybe not in my lifetime, or even the lifetime of the human race. Its entirely possible that et's will discover an Earth that is not dominated by Homo sapiens. I think we should not transmit a beacon until we are capable of going out to meet our visitors, otherwise we are just inviting our alien insect overlords to visit our backwater solar system, ravage the earth, and turn the human race into a cheap and nutritious food source. |
