Just a cool guy from the big smoke, i like to ride my bike, kayak around lake ontario, program code, hack linux....I run Seti software because it really is a noble endeavour :) and just plain cool!

1 Yes absolutely it exists, i think that we already have informally had some contact, official confirmed contact could be anytime...or never....lets wait and see. It could be benificial via exchanges of culture and scientific data, but as they say on Star Trek First Contact would have to be handled very carefully or it could be a disaster and god knows we've had enough of those...
2 Yes, make it a warning, like yelling fire, i have a feeling that would get a swifter response....heh.
3 I run it because it's Noble, efficient use of resources and just plain cool!
