I'm a computer tech working for a large hospital system. I have a very diverse set of hobbies - everything is of interest. I enjoy the outdoors, working on my antique equipment and even my work.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've always been interested in the stars, science fiction, etc. I'll probably never get a chance to go into outerspace but I can at least do some searching from the ground.
Really cool idea when one thinks of the potential impact of what everyone is doing by processing data packets from space. Probably as good as the odds are of hitting the Lottery.
I tend to think it's better to be the discoverer than the surprised alien. Transmitting a signal is OK if it's not pointing to my 'home'. Not sure if I would want to be the first one visited...
