Personal background
I'm a 20 year old female from Auckland, New Zealand. I love to spend hours tapping away at my computer, surfing, editing photos that i've taken with my digital camera and making hobby websites. I found SETI@HOME through a friend of a friend who is also a member, and mentioned it in passing one day, so I thought I would stop on by.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists, and we will discover it when we have anough advanced technology to do so. I believe that when we do get to meet the other life forms out there, we will be shocked, because whether they resemble human form or not, they are not going to be from earth. I do not know if we will benefit from finding and ET's as they may be so much more highly advanced than us and want to dominate us.
I also think that we should have a beacon to transmit information, and what it should transmit should be messages of love, family, peace, hope, joy. All the good things we have to offer anyone. I run SETI@home because I want to know that I'm doing my little bit to help. Isn't it all the sailors that sail the ship, and not just the captain?
