Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have been a great fan of Dr Carl Sagan. Seti@home project is his brain child. I used to watch the television series 'Cosmos' in the 80's. We need to be persistent in our efforts.
Some of you might have also watched the movie 'Contact'. Simply brilliant ! on radio astronomy and time travel.

As Dr Michio Kaku, the brilliant theoretical physicist and futurist points out in one his talks that we are not humble enough to accept that 'meaningful extraterrestrial radio waves' are already passing through us all the time in space. There are probably other highly advanced civilizations out there, communicating all the time. We are caught in the middle like ants. Perhaps we have not evolved as a species to tune in to their frequencies. Perhaps, we are all tuned to a different frequency. It might happen one day. We need to keep listening.

I have written a good article on collective intelligence and collective computing power with Seti@home as an example. You can find the article here.

When we collectively work together, we can accomplish more. There is a huge possibility that it can turn into a newer direction which would not have been possible if we had worked on our own.
