Personal background
Originally I'm from Rochester New York I'm 62yrs old and currently live in Beavercreek Ohio. I am retired from Delphi Automotive and I play Bass in a Grateful Dead cover band. We are performing at the Grateful Fest this year 2016 on July 4th weekend w/ Willie Nelson/Kris Kristofferson and The Jerry Garcia Band... My hobbies are 3D art and animation and film photography including Infrared.. I joined SETI several years ago 12/14yrs??? My computer was not fast then but I ran it 24/7... My new computer is a Duo Core 3.0Ghz... Nothing fancy and I pretty much run it all the time... Frank Drake was kind of a hero pionier to me and I already know they are out there! Its just a matter of time... My son Cayman just received a PhD in Geophysics and is starting his first job as a researcher for Arizona State University/Tempe at the School of Earth and Space Exploration.. I somehow planted a seed in him when he was 15/16yrs old.. He asked me if I had any good books for him to read. I gave him 'Lonely Hearts of the Cosmos by Dennis Overbye.. He liked it so much that when he got his PhD he gave me a copy of the book with his writing in it thanking me for the inspiration!!! I can die happy now! lol
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run this software because it is important. Its always stable and why not use the computation time when i'm not using it.. Seems like a win/win situation to me... Suggestions/ maybe a new screensaver.. I was surprised to see that you still use the same screensaver after all these years.. lol Well I guess if it ain't broke then don't fix it!
