My name's Dave but most of my friends call me nogger. I live in a little town called Colne in the county of Lancashire in the UK. I'm 51 years old.
I work in the lab at a local factory doing physical testing on textiles.
My hobbies are motorcycling (well, it's my only form of transport, really), photography (the profile pic is a self-portrait), reading, watching TV, and listening to music (preferably live).

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I run SETI@home for a couple of reasons.
I'd like to know, if it's possible within my lifetime, whether there is actually any life out there on another planet. I must admit I'm not too sure there is, or that we'll ever find out for sure one way or the other, but, hey, there's no harm in looking.
I also like the idea of my computer actually doing something when I'm not using it and so I also run the United Devices cancer project software.
