Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think ET exists- it would be supremely arrogant to think we're the only sentient planet in the cosmos (also very lonely). I think they'll find us first- we've been transmitting haphazardly without a firewall for too long. I hope they're peaceful, but we need to prepare adequate defence (star wars-type, but focussed outward). I run Seti@home cos I can: it's a great project to support, plus I feel we need a ticket out of here before Gaia decides to excise the canker we've become.
