Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It's been 11 years since I dropped out of university (studying physics), and the laws and mathematics of probability are even more lost in my own mist of times, so it has been a while since I did some applied mathematics. But assuming that the probability of life originating on a planet is very small, and the size of the universe is stupendously big, I think a reasonable figure, representing the probability of the existence of extraterrestrial life, survives
the mathematics of chance.
