New rig project

Post: Well, I'm getting ready to make the leap into building a new 24/7 rig by planning out all the hardware. Zalster has been and continues to be extremely helpful in this process due to my limited build experience; in fact, Zalster has given me a ton of knowledge on newer hardware that I had little of before. That being said, I'd like to share my Working New Rig hardware list to get some more feedback from you guys too. Please check it out and let me know what you guys think so far. (Note: in the list you will notice I have an M.2 2280 120GB SATA SSD that I'd like to use *only* for Windows / booting. I'm toying with this idea.) Overkill? ...Thoughts on utilizing M.2? Thanks for your help, folks. - Akio |

Post: Well no spoilers from me, but so far, unless Episode 2 improves, I feel there is something missing compared to the original series... I'm liking it so far. I knew there would be "monster of the week" episodes during this 6-episode run, but with only 6 episodes I wished they all would have been the underlying plot...but then that wouldn't hold true to the X-Files series :P I'm just glad the series is on again, no matter how short lived it may be. It's too early for me to critique. - Akio |

Post: Someone told me a 2nd episode is on tonight. Yeppers, it's a two-night premiere event, so there is another new episode tonight at 8pm on Fox. In reference to last night's episode, the stupid football post game show ran about a half hour into the X-Files start time, but Fox did broadcast the entire episode from the beginning when the football crap was done. If you had your DVR setup than you missed the last half hour of that episode due to the late start time. It should be On Demand here in a day or two, but it doesn't look like they are showing re-runs of season 10 on normal TV (at least, it's not listed when I do a search). |

no cpu and no gpu unit

Post: I recently went back to stock apps and downloaded the most recent BOINC client. I got my fill of 100 CPU WU's at first (all v8), but have yet to get any GPU (nVidia) WU's. Now I'm not getting any new WU's of either kind. Wondering if I muffed something up in my settings. [EDIT: Yep, I muffed the settings for my CPU cache. For whatever reason I saw the mistake this go-round. Sorry folks] |

Debate is one thing, but blatant disregard for someone's ponderings is down right nonconstructive. Personal attacks on grammar/spelling and the country of origin....really? |
