Gee, Slavko - I usually look forward to spending time with my folks
hey this whole SETI/BOINC-64 thing sounds really cool but don't worry - ET will be waiting patiently. It's Humanity that's in danger of expiring, not the Cosmos...

3 days of running BOINC 4.08 in 98SE and everything is going smoothly
I have a cable modem/LAN setup so the dial-up issue has not affected me

Since this is still alpha my other 98SE system is running Seti classic (it crashed under BOINC 4.05), but I believe I would get the same results if I ran BOINC 4.08 on it as well.

no good deed goes unpunished, Siran
I also noticed that running a SETI WU alongside a CPDN wU appears to show no progress on the CDPN WU (AMD 1.44 G/512M DDR 133FSB) so I reached a decision - detach from SETI and run the CDPN on that system, keep SETI on my older P3

the KISS principle

it is illogical to think that a WinTel droid would have anything constructive to offer in the realm of an AMD-related question. I's all about the Itaniums over there....

remember way back in the Stone Age when folks had modems on serial (RS-232)ports? I have never seen a "winmodem" that functions under a 64bit OS, and I doubt I ever will. An ISA modem might work, but where will you find a motherboard that supports both ISA and a 64bit CPU? I have a PCI "hardware" modem - not Winmodem - that I no longer use. If interested email ok@austin.rr.com - maybe it is possible to ship from Us to Slovakia
