I hope you dont think I was trolling up action.

I plan on finishing up my 1million here after polishing off my 100 mill on primegrid and use my freed up GPU's here to make the journey a little faster.

I simply wanted to say that an easy way to drum up crunchers if the projected needed more would be to raise the credits.

Let me know when you can trade those credits in for something tangible.

credits should reflect the processing cycles used. Personally I think anyone doing testing for beta deserves a premium(it is hit and miss for them, and I think they earned it.. personal opinion) but for the most part.. I would like to see things as even as possible. That way we can see how our computer is doing on things rather than comparing sizes.

that would be the best thing.. Even the playing field, but *shrug* with no regulation it lets some projects pull in the credit chases as opposed to those doing it for the science/hobby/interest.

Exactly.. if a project wants to attract the number crunchers.. you need to put out =)

Right now each one of my GTX570's are pulling 600,000 credits a day on primgrid..

Seti @ home might pull 20k..

I get crunching for the science.. but some of us also crunch for the numbers.. Maybe bringing Seti@home inline with some of the higher paying projects would be an influx of crunchers and donations to keep the project churning along..

Whats your thoughts?

Welcome to Team SETI.USA!

Our Motto:Together we will accomplish something amazing!

On March 24, 2005 Team SETI.USA was created to consolidate United States users and become the #1 SETI Team in the world.

This goal was achieved within 24 months of inception thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our dedicated membership.

To parlay that effort, and for the benefit of all BOINC distributed computing projects, Team SETI.USA’s commitment to extend beyond a single project has begun.

We have a new forum up and running with daily activity. We are looking to increase our ranks of active folks who enjoy talking technology and crunching. If you have a little geek in you and enjoy distributed computing or the idea that our computing power can help the world, we might just be the right place for you.

Swing by the forum, Join the team and see where it takes you.

10) Questions and Answers : GPU applications : Snow on the screen ? (Message 853816)

Same issues here for me.

i just stoped running seti on my gaming machine, My display drivers constantly eloaded/ blackscreened and then the snow/artifacts all over.

reboot fixxes it, but ive been running GPU grid, and folding @ home without flaw..

Seti's Cuda is the only thing that has caused it thus far.

Had my whole Dual GPU setup burning WU's like it was their job..

So what if i could only hold an hour worth of work because they ran on High priority mode..

I had to burn my WU's and return to an older version without CUDA..

They made my computer UNUSABLE.. graphics freezes.. couldnt watch a youtube with them running.

At least folding or gpu grid doesn't totally hog every single bit of power they have.

I will be the first person to rejoin the mix, once the bugs are fixxed and they deliver a quality product that lets me continue to use my computer while its busy crunching.

It sucks. but hopefully some fine tuning will happen.. Other words im running on about an Hour of work.. once its done, then it grabs 20 more units heh.

Using the new CUDA app?

Are they running on High priority?

Mine are, and it seems with any WU's in your que that are on high priority your boinc will not ask for more work

Since I started running the new Boinc version last night. All the WU's are running in High priority and are only downloading 20 at a time.

It isnt allowing me to que up more work then that, and I go through the stack of 20 very quickly.

Any suggestions?

A batch of 20 cuda WU's takes my Dual 8800gts's under and hour.

Its actually a Huge increase over my AMD 9850 BE's crunching ability.

Wall time.

Ive been watching, and each back is uploading about an hour or so after downloading depending on the WU's

well, I don't mind the speed, I mind the completely different result for CUDA vs. non-CUDA crunch

I havnt gotten any in a while, maybe it was miss matching them with Cuda users.. *Shrug*

im popping out plenty of those super small WU's in literally 20 seconds of CPU time, 17 seconds to feed the GPU and then 3 seconds of crunching.. = Done.

I saw a few, and im like wow.. sucks for the computer that took that look to do it
