2) Questions and Answers : Unix/Linux : seti processing extremely slow (Message 544095) Posted 11 Apr 2007 by holden Post: today i set up boinc on my gentoo box and started running seti.. however, it seems to be running a lot slower than it should (15-20 hours for a single WU) and i cant seem to figure out why.. theres nothing else running aside from irssi.. this is by no means a new machine; its an athlon xp 1700+, i believe.. but a couple years ago, i ran seti@home on the very same computer and i recall it only taking around 5-6ish hours per WU -- with kde running also.. i figure im missing something and any help would be appreciated^^
